June School Holidays Week 1: What to Do With Your Kids in Singapore Right Now

Every guide published for the June school holidays lists 40 things. None of them tell you what to do today. This is the week-1 version: what is open right now, what closes before the week ends, and what you need to register for before the slots go. The MOE June school holidays run from 30 May to 28 June 2026. Vesak Day observed on Monday 1 June makes the opening an effective three-day weekend. What Makes Week 1 Worth Paying Attention To

Week 1 is the quietest week of the holidays. It does not feel like it on Saturday, but by Tuesday the pattern is clear. Families with camp bookings are not yet in camps, most June camp programmes start from week 2. New exhibitions and events that opened on 30 May have not yet built word-of-mouth queues.

Two timed events end before this week is out. One major show is selling fastest right now and will not get cheaper or less crowded as it approaches its 14 June closing night. And one thing you need to register for before Friday affects week 2 directly.

Monstrous Fun at The Arts House (ends 31 May)

Monstrous Fun runs at The Arts House at Old Parliament until Sunday 31 May only. Free and ticketed workshops from $5 cover storytelling, performances, and creative play for all ages. If you are reading this before Sunday, this is the most time-sensitive item on the list. Small-scale, genuinely curated, and the kind of thing parents discover after it has closed.

Best for all ages. Priority: today or tomorrow.

Pokémon Truck (ends 4 June)

The Pokémon Truck is a 24-foot LED touring vehicle with five interactive stations and beanbag seating, making its final stops around Singapore until 4 June. Free entry, no booking required. Check the current location via the official Pokémon Singapore social channels before heading out, as it moves between venues.

Best for ages 4 to 12. Free and requires no planning beyond confirming the day's location.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The Musical (closes 14 June)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The Musical plays at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, until 14 June. Tickets from $88 per person, ages 6 and above, running approximately two hours. This week is the lowest-crowd window of the entire run. If you have been waiting to see whether tickets would drop in price or availability would improve, stop waiting. Neither will happen before closing night. The final weekend will be the busiest.

Best for children aged 6 and above who are ready for a full-length musical. Book directly through the MBS website or SISTIC.

Free Picks That Just Opened

Children's Festival featuring Disney's Winnie the Pooh (Gardens by the Bay)

The outdoor festival at Supertree Grove opened on 30 May and runs until 21 June. Free entry to the outdoor areas. Key installations include a 16-metre Pooh-themed zipline, a honeycomb ball pit, Piglet-inspired balancing challenges, and Tigger trampolines. Pooh's Grand Friendship Party — large-scale character inflatables parading through the Grove, runs on selected Saturdays. This is already drawing crowds on weekends. Go on a weekday morning in week 1 if you can.

Children's Season 2026 (National Museum, ACM, Children's Museum)

Children's Season 2026 opened on 30 May across the National Museum of Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum, and Children's Museum Singapore. This year's theme is sustainability, with a month-long Stamp Rally, upcycling workshops, and interactive challenges. Free for Singapore citizens and PRs. The ACM's dedicated kids' space includes a soft play area and a kids' disco room, open Saturday to Thursday 10am to 7pm.

Best for ages 4 to 12. Free for locals. No advance booking required for walk-in activities.

i Light Singapore (opens 5 June)

i Light Singapore opens this Thursday, 5 June, at Marina Bay Waterfront. Fourteen light art installations by 17 regional artists, free entry, open 7.30pm to 10.30pm daily through 28 June. The theme this year is Movement, with installations designed to respond to visitors' energy and actions. Thursday or Friday evening in week 1 is the smart visit: the festival is new, the crowds are at their lightest, and the waterfront walk at night works well for all ages.

Best for all ages. Pair with dinner nearby for a full evening outing.

Best Indoor Options for the Midday Heat

One Ocean: Every Action Ripples (Science Centre Singapore)

This new exhibition at Science Centre Singapore opened on 30 May and runs through January 2027. Ten interactive ocean-themed zones cover marine ecosystems, climate, and conservation through technology and hands-on storytelling. Admission from $10 for children and $15 for adults. In Jurong East, which also has several other permanent galleries to extend the visit. Book online to avoid walk-up queues during the holidays.

Best for ages 5 to 12. Plan for two hours minimum.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue (ArtScience Museum, MBS)

An immersive walkthrough built around the Minecraft universe at the ArtScience Museum. Ticketed and best for ages 6 to 12. A reliable midday fallback when the heat rules out outdoor plans. Book in advance, walk-up availability is limited during the June holidays.

Best for Minecraft fans aged 6 to 12. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.

Outdoor Options (Best Before 10am or After 4pm)

Rainforest Wild Adventure (Mandai)

Both the East and West zones of Rainforest Wild Adventure are now fully open following the East Zone's soft opening on 20 May. Twenty hectares of naturalistic habitats with 58 species roaming freely, plus nine Adventure+ activities on a single admission. A genuine half-day commitment. Book a timed entry slot online before heading out. Managed in partnership with NParks, with nature trails connecting the zones and a free shuttle between them.

Best for ages 5 and above. Allow three to four hours. Not suitable for young toddlers without significant parental assistance on the adventure elements.

Splashtopia 2026 (Sentosa Palawan Green)

The Hawaiian-themed inflatable water park at Sentosa's Palawan Green runs throughout June. Splashtopia entry from $15 to $25 per child depending on session length. Weekday mornings are noticeably less crowded than weekends. Vigorous and tiring in the best possible way for children aged 4 to 12. Bring a change of clothes and sunscreen.

Best for ages 4 to 12. Walk-in possible on weekdays. Weekends book ahead.

Do Before Week 1 Ends: Sets Up the Rest of the Holidays

• Register for BYKidO Day of Play (11 June). T-shirt collection at partner venues starts on 1 June. On 11 June, children in their t-shirts get free entry to 19 venues across Singapore. The t-shirts are limited per venue. Head to your nearest participating location this week to collect.
• Book Pixar in Concert (26–27 June, Esplanade). The Orchestra of the Music Makers performs Pixar film scores live with scenes on screen. Tickets from $58 to $168. This sells out. You have four weeks, but the best seats are already thinning.
• Sort any remaining camp slots. If you still need week 2 or 3 covered and have not confirmed a programme, the last-minute camp guide covers providers still taking registrations, including several with rolling weekly intake.

Week 1 is easier than it looks. The crowds have not built. The new events are freshest. The theatre tickets are still available. Use the first few days to catch what closes soonest, then let the rest of the month unfold from there.
