Over two evenings at Esplanade Concert Hall on September 18 and 19, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra brings together conductor Vasily Petrenko, cellist Gautier Capuçon and the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir for a varied programme featuring works by Arvo Pärt, Saint-Saëns and Shostakovich – moving from joyful choral music to a virtuosic concerto and full-scale symphonic drama. The evening opens with Arvo Pärt’s Our Garden, a bright, playful cantata written for children’s choir and orchestra.
